Companies want OUR Video Ads
We are building OUR own video ad, made from a piece of all of US, but lately companies have been asking US to create video ads for them, just like WE are doing OUR.

Just days after partnering with Coke for a greeting cards promotion, YouTube announced a partnership with Southwest Airlines that asked YouTube users to create video ads for the Dallas-based airline.
YouTube has clearly decided that contests are a good money-earner and drum up yet more press attention - particularly when partners and sponsors include Coke, Southwest and Cingular.
There are too many contests being launched on YouTube these days for anyone to keep track: YouTube Underground, the YouTube-Southwest ad contest, MyCadillacStory and RealHousewives to name a few. CBS also used the site to launch a contest involving the Super Bowl: users could submit 15 minute clips to be included in the channel’s Super Bowl coverage.

Why only one frame matters
You might think that buying just a single frame for $39 would serve no purposes because it wont be seen by anyone.
Well, think again because today’s top story on Digg is about a single frame.
Some guy was watching Iron Chef on The Food Network and noticed the screen quickly blink red. A few seconds later he realized: "Was that the McDonalds logo...?" Thanks to the magic of my Dish Network DVR, he rewinds it and put it in to slow motion.
Here's the advertisement running both frame by frame and in real time. The important thing here is that he retained the image on his brain, even if it was only a single frame.

One Year for Sale
A friend of mine has brought to my attention this website:oneyearforsale.com, saying it is also selling "time".
Although I sincerely desire he to do well with his project, I think his concept of selling time has nothing to do with mine. As I see it, he is not doing anything different from an advertising contract for any other website; most of the times the deals for having banners or text links (as is the case) displayed on a webpage are also time based.
Either way, my best wishes of success!

The ourTVad name
Ever since I thought about the concept of selling time frame by frame, I had a hard time deciding on the name to choose for it.

On April 2006 I finally decided for a name: Adsflipbook. In the end the page would be like a Flip Book which would quickly flip images one after the other, and the images would be ads, so, it was a good name.
However, I was still not satisfied with it because this would be a Video and
the name was complex and misleading. With “video” on my mind, I went after names with video on it. Of course all
good ones were taken, but I manage to found a real great one: AdsTube.com.
Instead of registering it right away, I went to the drawing board to see how the
logo would look like. The next day
(2006-10-02), when I went to register, It was gone. It was registered by no less
than Doubleclick, who also got the dot net.
So, I had to find another name. And… what would this be? It would be an ad, but not any ad, an ad that would be on TV. So it was a TVad. A TVad made and belonging to whom? To all of us, of course! So, it would be OUR TV AD.
Seeing the person of the year (YOU) on Time made me feel real good. WE, the person of the year, now have OUR own TV ad.

My MillionDollarHomepage.com inspiration
On August 2005, Alex launched the Million Dollar Homepage
I must admit I was really surprised with its immediate success. However, I soon realised one thing: besides the classic crowd empowering the Internet confers, one of the biggest secrets of the MDHP was to keep it simple, very simple! Anyone was able to understand the concept the minute they entered the MDHP.
So, my imagination started wondering on how on the Internet space there was still a lot of room for similar concepts to flourish. Having a SEO background, my immediate thought was: How about words, the most common way of linking on the Internet?
So, on Oct-2005, I registered the domain MillionWordsHomePage.com expecting to develop something like the MillionDollarHomePage, but using words instead of pixels.
My personal live entered a very hard time back then so I ended up never developing it. I even had a very nice offer for the domain on SEDO which I refused.
Exactly one year later, Joel was very successful with the launch of 500Words.com. Congrats to him. The same idea, but unlike me, put to practice, and very well, I shall say. (500words.com was registered 21-jun-2006)
Another of my immediate ideas, back on 2005, was to sell time instead of space. And that’s how we end up here. I must admit I have been living a nightmare since I saw the 500words.com page, thinking that some day; somehow, another person would also start selling time.
