Frequently Asked Questions

Why would you get traffic from people clicks?

First and of course, because they see something they like. But also because many people will buy just a couple of frames and thus it would be difficult to hit the right frame you want. Thus, you’ll get a lot of "parallax traffic". It’s something like domain typos but for video, clicks will miss the right frame and you’ll get a lot hits from those "misspelled" clicks.

Why would people watch it?

First and of course, because video is high on the Internet these days, with YouTube on top of the list. Almost anyone have high bandwidth connections and watching videos is a no brain task, when you can rest a while from those clicks and forms interactions on classic web pages. But you also can't dismiss the number of people who will watch this because their frame will be on the video. Keep in mind this is "OUR" TV ad. Thousands of people could have a frame on it; now consider the network of friends, family and co-workers of all those people...

Why you should buy your frames as soon as possible?

Hopefully our video will be shown over and over, and so, the first frames will be the ones seen more. We deeply believe that, online, time spend viewing the video will be an inverted exponential graph. That’s why you should act now and reserve the lower frames at once.

Will I get noticed with only one frame?

Indeed you can, if you do it right. Remember that viral video where you see a very calming and refreshing landscape and suddenly you get scared as hell by a monster face? And it’s only a couple of frames! But you can also reserve frames in a sequence, for example 5 frames all separated by 100 frames in the middle. You can also play with complementary colours.

Also very important is luck! Yes, the video will often stop playing in order to load more so, it could very well stop for many seconds on your frame! That’s another reason to buy the first frames before others do.

Will the video have sound?

Yes, but sound will only be available for people who buy chunks of frames bigger than 2 seconds. Other parts of the video will have a soundtrack.

On what TV channel/station will this be on?

This would be one of our main focuses. What we can promise is that we will try to get the best possible for the money we’ll collect. We are currently discussing the available solutions and will be putting the top 10 best final solutions and/or proposals to a balanced vote (one vote per frame bought).

Of course we will not be on prime time, but most probably on an "overnight time slot". However, we will try our best to cover the majority of the USA mainland. We will try our best to run the video without commercial breaks. This is all we can tell you right now on this issue.

We have just now started talking with advertising agencies and will be keeping you updated as news unfolds.

The ourTVad broadcast has a rather inverse premise on the classic TV ad broadcast. Our ad will not be trying to reach an audience, on the opposite; it will be the audience who will be after our ad, so negotiations will be awkward.

We do intent to make an event show out of the broadcast.

Will it be shown on other TV channels or other countries?

Because we are a true novelty, our deep hope is that it would show up on many, many news channels and web sites worldwide. This is our biggest advantage. This is another reason you should act soon. Of course first seconds will be most likely to be shown on trailers and news bulletins.

When will it be broadcasted?

It will be on TV after we sell all out frames and reach a deal with a TV station, no longer than a couple of weeks after the last frame is sold.

For how long it will be online?

The video and complete site will be online till Jan, 1, 2010

Will it be on YouTube?

We will try our best to avoid the video to be shown elsewhere and advise you to not to do it or promote this idea. Although people will still watch it, there will be no possibility to click on the frames.

Why $39 each frame?

Our primary goal is to reach half a million dollars! Our goals were also that the video would not be too long and that the frame would not be too expensive.

Thus and in order to reach that half a million figure those were the calculations we made:

The PAL TV system is 25 frames per second at 60Mhz. The NTSC TV system is 30 frames per second at 50Mhz . Video will be 8min and 30s long on PAL and 7min and 5s on NTSC. Either way it will be 12750 frames long. Now 12750 x $39 result is approximately $500.000.

The cost of one complete second is also still below the $1000 mark. Way below prime time TV advertising values and without the exposure this will get and also without the clicks back to your site!

What else do I get for $39?

You also get a temporary link from the home page and a complete page with your frame/video and a complete description of your product/page or service.

Visit the sales pages for more info on this.

Can I choose the frame number to buy?

Yes and no. There are blocks of frames reserved which you can only buy as a block. The restant you can choose exactly what frame you would like. Just tell us the frame number. Don't forget to exclude also the first 30 seg and the ones that already have been sold.

Visit the frames page for more info on this.

Why are the first frames reserved?

First frames are to be auctioned on ebay once all other frames have been sold.

How many frames per second can the human eye see?

When you search on Google for that question, you’ll see answers vary a lot. However, on one thing all agree: the minimum value of frames per second a movie should be using in order not to have the flickering perceived. Depending on the viewing conditions and the person, the answer seems to be from 25 to 60 Hz ("frames per second"). Below 25 Hz, a movie would appear to be a series of still shots, not a moving picture. What that means is that the common person is able to see the full 25 seconds per second, because if you lower it, the person would see two or more frames instead of just one and thus the flickering effect and not a continuum fluid movement.
